Trades Generalist (HVAC)

Description

Duties include the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of both heating and air conditioning HVAC systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
• When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
• The chosen candidate must obtain a CDL permit within 90 days of appointment and CDL B license with no air brake restriction prior to completion of probation and continuously maintain license thereafter or face possible disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working under a journey-level HVAC tradesman or apprenticeship training in the HVAC trade.
• Experience in the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems.
• Some experience in other recognized skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

Pay

Base Pay: $29.51 hiring rate up to $31.95 job rate. Location Pay: $0.85 for Mid-Hudson. Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37.
