Trades Generalist (HVAC)

Duties

• Installation of heating and air‑conditioning HVAC systems
• Repair of heating and air‑conditioning HVAC systems
• Troubleshooting of heating and air‑conditioning HVAC systems

Minimum Qualifications

• Four years of full‑time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson, providing training equivalent to an apprenticeship or similar program; or an equivalent combination of experience and technical coursework in skilled trades.
• Completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
• Valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
• Ability to obtain a CDL permit within 90 days of appointment and a CDL‑B license with no air‑brake restriction before the end of the probationary period, and to maintain it continuously thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working under a journey‑level HVAC tradesperson or having completed apprenticeship training in the HVAC trade.
• Experience installing, repairing, and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience in other recognized skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.

Pay

• Base Pay: $29.51 hiring rate up to $31.95 job rate
• Location Pay: $0.85 for Mid‑Hudson
• Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37
