About the role
Trade Sales Consultants develop long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with builders, contractors, architects, trade organizations, and consumer clients. You will be responsible for all practices and aspects pertaining to generating high-volume, profitable sales while achieving maximum market penetration with a high level of customer satisfaction. Special projects and other duties may be assigned based on business necessity.
Responsibilities
- Handle all field activities related to customer relations, product application, product sales and delivery, service, product installation instruction, collections, and strive for 100% customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate, promote, and advance the visibility and presence of the entire Marvin product line while maintaining awareness of activity or news in the architectural and construction-related community.
- Actively represent Mountain West Windows & Doors at company-sponsored events, professional group invitations, trade association meetings, and consumer home shows to promote Marvin products.
- Present product demonstrations, accurately read, interpret, and take-off blueprints, and use electronic software and systems (PQM, MSOffice, etc.) to quote, sell, and order products for remodeling and new construction residential and light commercial projects.
- Ensure Marvin products are installed properly and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Follow up on leads generated by lead reports, window store leads, and outstanding proposals.
- Provide regular feedback, including wins and losses, competitive information, quality alerts, and periodic special requests.
- Mentor newer team members and host corporate guests for field visits upon request.
- Promote and facilitate continuous improvement activities in the department.
Requirements
- BS/BA, AA, or Technical degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of sales, customer service, or general business experience preferred.
- Prior knowledge of general construction applications and terminology and/or window and door applications or components is desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with the company Fleet Safety Policy.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role operates in a typical office environment with frequent visits to construction jobsites or customer homes. The noise level is typically moderate.
- Regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel, especially with use of phone and computer.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear, especially in telephone use and meetings.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus to read documents, policies, brochures, and computer screens.
