Position Overview
The Trade Lane Development Specialist plays a critical role in driving growth and operational excellence across our Latin American (LATAM) markets. You will serve as the strategic bridge between market intelligence and execution, utilizing data-driven insights to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
We are hiring for our HQ in Wood Dale, IL, or our Miami, Florida, office. Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
Responsibilities
- Identify Opportunities: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to pinpoint high-potential growth areas within the LATAM region.
- Trend Visibility: Monitor and report on regional logistics trends, economic shifts, and competitor movements to provide leadership with actionable visibility.
- Trade Lane Support: Actively contribute to developing strategic trade lane initiatives, aligning regional activities with global business objectives.
- Pricing Execution: Manage and execute pricing requests for our LATAM agent network, ensuring accuracy and alignment with market levels.
- Agility & Response: Streamline internal processes to improve quote turnaround times, directly impacting our ability to capture market share.
- Hit Ratio Optimization: Analyze won/lost business data to refine pricing strategies and improve the overall "hit ratio" (conversion rate) for the region.
- KPI Analysis: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to trade lane volume, profitability, and agent engagement.
- Performance Reporting: Develop regular dashboards and reports to visualize lane health and progress against development targets.
- Manage compliance on Latin America Customs Regulations and notify all Nippon Express USA branches and other Nippon Express Group to minimize financial and operational risks.
- Manage the Express Net NEAMR Business Unit Resource Library 365 for Latin America section to keep all Nippon Express employees in the world updated on the latest information on rules and regulations in Latin America and the agents contact list.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements, Education, and Experience: B.A/B.S degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience: Proven experience in freight forwarding, trade lane management, or logistics pricing.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into strategic market insights.
- Communication: Professional fluency in English and Spanish (Portuguese is a significant plus) to effectively collaborate with a diverse agent network.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel/Data Visualization tools and experience with CRM or Freight Management Systems (FMS)
- Data Analysis & Augmentation: "Proficiency in using AI-powered data tools or Advanced Data Analysis modules to interpret shipping volumes, identify pricing outliers, and forecast market shifts."
- Organization Relationships: Reports To: Management (Manager or above)
