Trade Accounting Manager
About the role
The Trade Accounting Manager will be a part of the larger Controllership Team, which oversees consolidated financials, audits, taxes, cost management, and reporting. This position is located at the Wichita, KS headquarters and offers a flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end accounting close process to ensure the accurate accounting and recording of critical business transactions. This includes providing a clear understanding of key financial drivers and delivering insightful analyses to support decision-making.
- Partner with corporate finance teams and other capabilities to advance accounting and reporting initiatives.
- Drive improvements and transformation in critical accounting period closing activities. This encompasses overseeing account reconciliations, maintaining strong internal control stewardship, and ensuring compliance with both US GAAP and foreign statutory financial reporting requirements.
- Challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement with an entrepreneurial mindset – identifying better ways to measure, explain, and improve business performance while leveraging technology.
- Develop team members through coaching and training to enhance their application of Principle Based Management.
Requirements
- Experience in accounting, finance, or other related roles that demonstrates a professional understanding of accounting and financial concepts and cost accounting principles.
- Supervisory Experience – Experience leading and developing individuals and/or a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related Business field.
- Experience using OneStream, Power BI, Alteryx, or other data visualization tools and/or other advanced technologies (machine learning, AI, etc.) and process transformation / process implementation experience.
- Knowledge of US GAAP requirements, specifically in the areas of derivative and inventory accounting.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP requirements, economic thinking, leadership capability, and a track record of leading teams through process improvement by leveraging technology and data.
