Tractor Operator

Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive tractors while maneuvering heavy-duty rotary cutters (bush hogs) through uneven terrain, narrow spaces, and around obstacles
- Cut and clear dense brush, tall grass, and light saplings to restore land usability or reduce fire hazards
- Scout the path before mowing to remove hazardous debris, large rocks, wire, and stumps that could damage the machinery or result in unsafe operation conditions
- Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, including greasing, checking fluid levels and visual inspection of both tractor and bushhog components
- Keep accurate schedule, time sheet and work order documentation
- Adhere to a cutting schedule outlined by the lead tractor operator
Essential Skills
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic ability to perform routine tractor and mower maintenance, adjust cutting heights, and replace or sharpen blades
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years of experience operating heavy farm machinery or industrial tractors
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
- Able to sit for extended periods while handling vibrating, bouncing equipment in varying weather conditions (heat, rain, dust)
