About the Role

Primary responsibility will be to operate tractors, implements, and other farm machinery. The operator will also perform general fieldwork related to farm operations. Participation in trainings, workshops, and staff meetings related to farm operations is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and equipment safely and effectively.
• Operate agricultural machinery including tractors, combines, and irrigation systems.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections to verify proper functioning and inform the supervisor of any issues identified.
• Walk beside or ride on planting machines while in the mechanical planters at specified intervals.
• Adjust farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions.
• Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, and sprayers using bolts and hand tools.
• Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunction.
• Perform ploughing, drilling, harvesting (including combining), and fertilizing (including relevant record keeping).

• Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly.

• The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
• The ability to coordinate two or more limbs while operating equipment.
• The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• The ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
• The ability to see details at a distance.
• The ability to judge distances between objects.
• The ability to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences.
• The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving or holding them in one position.
• The ability to time movements or equipment in anticipation of changes in speed and/or direction.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

Qualifications

• Valid driving license.
• Pass background check.
• Pass physical and drug test.
• Experience with ploughing, drilling, harvesting (including combining), and fertilizing (including relevant record keeping).
