This role provides direct clinical patient care, assuming responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The position supervises staff to ensure appropriate care delegation and supports the CNO in maintaining high-quality, safe, and resource-efficient nursing care across multiple critical care areas, including CCU/ICU, ER, NICU, CVICU, PICU, MICU, Radiology, Dialysis, PACU, CVOR, Labor and Delivery, OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, and GI/Endo. This position may support all facilities in the market as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
- Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control, ensuring optimal patient discharge.
- Coordinates and plans patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
- Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
- Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies or disasters.
- Knows the hospital’s emergency codes, their purpose, and adheres to hospital policies and procedures for each code.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required). Bachelor's or master's degree (preferred).
- 2 years of current experience in their specialty (required).
- Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation, or policy in the state of practice.
- AHA BLS certification (required). Additional certifications (e.g., AHA ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required per corporate policy for the unit of hire.
