Tower Technician III

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems
• Understand and implement MasTec Communications Group (MNS) Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies (Safety Manual)
• Understand and implement industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS, and ANSI)
• Climb towers and ladders at various heights
• Conduct the erection of various tower types
• Offload material and inventory
• Prepare and clean sites
• Install new carriers on new build and existing towers
• Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles
• Assist in the assembly of monopole, all-weld and knock-down self-support and guyed towers
• Assist in antenna installation of microwave parabolic (1 to 15-foot), VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas
• Assist in transmission line and installation of foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguides
• Assist in installation of all aspects of electrical site foundations, grounding, and conduits, including electrical installations where applicable
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Degree or equivalent, with 8 years of experience
• Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions as printed
• Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations
• Possession of an NWSA certification is a plus
• Ability to climb towers, lift 50 lbs., and work up to 12 hours
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company policy conditions
• Availability to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively for job-related functions
• Ability to work out of market or away from home as work demands

Pay

$25–$28 per hour
