This is an internship with a flexible working schedule to accommodate school schedules, ranging between 20-30 hours per week.

About the role

Under general supervision, the incumbent supports the tourism department’s promotional efforts to attract visitors, enhance brand visibility, and boost the local economy by showcasing the region’s attractions and experiences. This role assists with the implementation of marketing campaigns, content creation, social media management, event promotion, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and execution of marketing and advertising campaigns across digital, print, and social platforms.
  • Draft content for newsletters, brochures, website, blog posts, and press releases.
  • Manage social media accounts by creating posts, responding to comments, and tracking engagement.
  • Collect and organize photography, video assets, and promotional materials for marketing use.
  • Monitor and analyze key marketing metrics, including website traffic, engagement rates, and campaign performance.
  • Support SEO strategies by updating website content, using relevant keywords, and helping to improve online search visibility.
  • Track and report on digital campaign analytics, SEO performance, and other relevant marketing metrics.
  • Provide general administrative support including scheduling, data entry, and recordkeeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Third- or fourth-year student at an accredited college in a related study.
  • Valid Driver’s License and meet eligibility requirements of “acceptable driving standards” as defined by the County.

Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, data management, communication, and other software.
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures for confidentiality while adapting to evolving privacy standards and technologies.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships within a team.
  • Proficiency in using specialized software for content creation and social media platforms.
