About the role
White Lodging develops and operates a portfolio of award-winning premium hotels, rooftop bars, and restaurants in dynamic cities nationwide. This high-visibility HR leadership role reports directly to the VP of Total Rewards and HR Operations, supporting both the Benefits and Compensation Centers of Excellence (COEs) with exposure to senior HR leadership, the CHRO, and cross-functional Total Rewards initiatives across 60+ premium hotel properties. The position is hybrid—three days per week in the Merrillville, Indiana corporate office and two days remote—offering structure alongside flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Benefits COE Support
- Compile and organize benefits enrollment, billing, and utilization data from carriers and internal systems, identifying discrepancies for resolution
- Track open enrollment project timelines, coordinate communications, and ensure seamless annual enrollment
- Prepare materials for carrier meetings, manage document requests, and maintain organized records of contracts and plan documents
- Maintain compliance calendars for ACA, ERISA, and COBRA requirements; monitor pay continuity with Finance and Payroll
- Pull together market survey data and peer benchmarking information—leveraging AI analytics tools—to support benefits plan design decisions
- Compensation COE Support
- Assist with merit planning cycle data preparation, off-cycle compensation adjustment tracking, and salary range maintenance
- Manage job matching, compensation survey submissions, and the compensation database for accuracy and accessibility
- Compile data for periodic pay equity reviews—applying AI analysis to flag anomalies—and prepare summary reports
- Support the upkeep of the job catalog, grade structure, and salary range tables; process reclassification and leveling requests
- Cross-Functional and VP-Level Support
- Build and maintain Total Rewards reporting dashboards covering benefits cost, headcount, and compensation data for VP and CHRO audiences
- Own the Total Rewards project calendar, keeping deliverables visible and surfacing risks to leadership
- Assist with RFP coordination for benefit carriers, compensation survey vendors, and Total Rewards technology platforms
- Serve as liaison between Total Rewards and HR Information Systems to ensure data accuracy and support system updates
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, tools, and reporting processes—including AI-enabled solutions—and recommend improvements
Requirements
- Strong foundational skills in HR, finance, data analysis, or a related field with curiosity about compensation and benefits
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities to compile, organize, and interpret complex benefits and compensation data sets
- Comfort with technology and data tools—including AI-assisted analytical platforms—to improve workflows and reporting
- Strong project management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities across two COE leaders
- Experience with HRIS platforms, compensation databases, benefits administration systems, or HR analytics tools; familiarity with market pricing and compensation survey platforms a plus
- Working knowledge of benefits compliance (ACA, ERISA, COBRA) and compensation concepts (salary range structures, job architecture, pay equity analysis, merit planning)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare clear, accurate reporting for VP and CHRO-level audiences
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) coursework preferred but not required
- Proactive, detail-oriented approach with commitment to process improvement, data accuracy, and long-term Total Rewards strength
- Comfort and productivity in a hybrid work environment—self-directed and accountable both in-office and remotely
