About the role
Vail-Summit Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery (VSON) is seeking a highly skilled and board-certified/board-eligible Orthopaedic Total Joints Surgeon to join our physician-owned group. This is an opportunity to work alongside two Sports Medicine surgeons in a multidisciplinary orthopaedic and neurosurgical environment known for clinical excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical examinations using medical instruments and equipment to assess mobility and strength.
- Administer or order diagnostic tests, analyses, and imaging; analyze reports and findings.
- Oversee maintenance of case histories and medical records.
- Diagnose conditions and administer or prescribe treatments, medications, and rehabilitation.
- Perform surgery, including handling orthopaedic trauma cases from a Level 3 ER as part of the on-call schedule.
- Monitor effectiveness of pain management interventions (e.g., medications, spinal injections).
- Document examination results, treatment plans, and patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery.
- MD or DO degree.
- Experience or fellowship training in Total Joints surgery.
Benefits
- Eligibility to participate in significant ancillary revenue sources, including potential investment in two surgery centers, in-office MRI and X-ray equipment, an in-house Physical Therapy group, and durable medical equipment provision.
- Employed physicians can purchase surgery center shares.
- Additional compensation from ancillary sources ranges between $100,000 - $500,000 annually.
Pay
Base salary: $350,000 - $450,000 per year.
