About the role

Established in 1979, Vail-Summit Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery (VSON) is seeking a highly skilled and board-certified/board-eligible Orthopaedic Total Joints Surgeon to join our team. Currently, we have two Sports Medicine surgeons who are looking for a Total Joints surgeon to join their team. The ideal candidate will deliver advanced, patient-centered care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary orthopaedic and neurosurgical environment. Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical examinations using medical instruments and equipment to assess mobility and strength.
  • Administer or order tests, analyses, and diagnostic images; analyze reports and findings.
  • Oversee maintenance of case histories and medical records.
  • Diagnose conditions and administer or prescribe treatments, medications, and rehabilitation as applicable.
  • Perform surgery.
  • Attend to patients in clinic or hospital and re-examine disability cases periodically to verify progress.
  • Monitor effectiveness of pain management interventions (e.g., medications, spinal injections).
  • Document examination results, treatment plans, and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in the on-call schedule handling orthopaedic trauma cases from a Level 3 ER.
  • Participate in our walk-in orthopaedic clinic on a rotating basis, including rapid assessment of acute injuries and triage of surgical candidates.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Demonstrated expertise in total joint replacement surgery.

Benefits

VSON enjoys significant ancillary revenue sources that a new partner would be eligible to participate in, including potential investing in two different surgery centers, having 2 in-office MRI’s and 3 x-ray machines, our own Physical Therapy group, and providing our own durable medical equipment to our patients. Employed physicians can also purchase surgery center shares. Additional compensation from these ancillary sources range between $100,000 - $500,000 annually.

Pay

Salary range: $350,000 - $450,000 per year.
