About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Security & Application Support Engineer to provide enterprise-level support for CA Top Secret (TSS) security administration and Natural/COBOL applications. The ideal candidate will have strong IBM z/OS mainframe experience, a background in mainframe security administration, and experience supporting production environments in a ticket-driven support model.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support CA Top Secret (TSS) security across enterprise mainframe environments.
  • Process user access requests, including account creation, modification, and removal.
  • Troubleshoot access, authentication, and authorization issues.
  • Support Natural and COBOL applications, including incident resolution, production support, maintenance, and minor enhancements.
  • Manage incident, request, and service task queues while meeting defined SLAs.
  • Support general IBM z/OS mainframe operations, including production issues and batch processing.
  • Assist with audit requests, access reviews, and compliance activities.
  • Ensure application access complies with enterprise security policies and CA Top Secret controls.
  • Support enterprise key rotation activities performed twice annually.
  • Manage mainframe certificate renewals.
  • Support started task account administration.
  • Monitor and support batch processing and job scheduling using CA7.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to resolve production issues.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience administering CA Top Secret (TSS).
  • Experience with IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
  • Experience supporting Natural and COBOL applications.
  • Background in mainframe security administration.
  • Experience working in a ticket-driven production support environment.
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and access provisioning.
  • Experience with JCL (Job Control Language).
  • Experience with CA7 batch scheduling and job management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RACF and/or ACF2.
  • Experience with IAM platforms such as SailPoint, NetIQ, or similar solutions.
  • Experience supporting audit, compliance, and access governance activities.
  • Experience working in large enterprise production environments.
  • Salesforce (SFDC) experience.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security governance and regulatory compliance.

Location: United States or Canada (U.S. preferred). Remote work available from Chicago, IL.
