Job Summary

B&A is seeking a Top Secret Senior FOIA Analyst for a contract with a federal government client. The position supports the Joint Staff Declassification Branch (JSDB) within the Information Management Division (IMD).

Responsibilities

• Conduct line-by-line, document-level declassification reviews across ADR, MDR, FRUS, FOIA, and SR processes.
• Process high-level, short-suspense SPR requests from Congress, DoD Office of General Counsel, and other agencies.
• Support internal FOIA and MDR document searches and provide recommended responses with rationale.
• Generate timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports on records reviewed.
• Archive declassification actions into the Joint Staff repository within 5 business days.
• Maintain and update Declassification Branch databases.
• Provide guidance and quality assurance support to junior analysts.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences required.
• Candidates with other degrees or extensive professional/military experience may be considered based on declassification work experience and Joint Staff approval.
• Must have 5 years of experience in at least two of ADR, MDR, FRUS, FOIA, or SR, or 2 years in Joint Staff processes.

Required Skills

• Thorough understanding of Executive Order 13526, classification criteria, and FOIA provisions.
• Knowledge of Joint Staff structure, mission, history, and equities.
• Completed DOE’s Historical Records and Restricted Data Reviewer course.

Security Clearance

Final and fully adjudicated Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
