Responsibilities
- Set up and deliver precision ground cutting tools such as end mills, reamers, and drills by installing them into various types of arbors (HSK, CAT, KM4, drill chucks) used by milling machines.
- Demonstrate knowledge of holding devices for tool grinding.
- Verify dimensions of cutting tools for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers, scales, and electronic measuring devices.
- Deliver finished cutting tools and pick up dull cutting tools on a scheduled basis to multiple locations within the facility.
- Interface with multiple departments and personnel in a friendly and effective manner.
- Perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Understand and follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment as a self-starter without requiring prompting from supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 3 years of manufacturing experience (in lieu of diploma or GED).
Preferred Qualifications
- GKN Aerospace experience.
- Ability to interface with CNC grinding machines and personal computers.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook experience.
Physical Demands
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
