Tool Room Technician II 2nd Shift
About the Role
As a Toolroom Technician, you will maintain and repair Plastic Injection molds to support manufacturing and achieve quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot various issues on plastic components (gas traps, voids, weld lines, pin push, etc.)
- Disassemble and assemble molds, analyze and solve mold problems including flashing conditions, galling, venting, and cooling problems
- Assemble, repair, inspect, clean, and polish molds using skill and care while handling
- Understand blueprints, sketches, and general instructions to disassemble, inspect, repair, and assemble plastic injection molds
- Perform highly critical assembly operations, refitting, re-venting, or making adjustments as necessary to achieve designed objectives
- Answer technical questions from Manufacturing departments as required
- Maintain equipment maintenance and repair history records, including details of work performed, parts replaced, and labor hours
- Operate machine shop equipment (Mill, Surface grinder, Lathe)
- Construct and repair machine shop tools, gauges, fixtures, jigs, or dies for use within the company
- Solve problems relating to unusual material, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production processes
- Provide guidance and training to lower-level technicians
- Perform mold repair work on cavities and cores due to damage or wear
- Troubleshoot and repair all brands of Hot runner systems
- Complete Engineering changes and revisions to molds
- Interpret drawings and evaluate machining methods on assignments requiring instructions from Toolroom Supervisor on intricate machining setups
- Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions
- Stone and polish mold components
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic circuits using diagrams, blueprints, and electrical circuit test meters and methods is a plus
- Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprints
- Ability to perform basic math and interpret and execute work instructions
- Ability to frequently lift objects that are 25 pounds or more
- Capable of using hand tools and operating machines when needed
- Must be able to communicate well with team and upper management
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to follow documented procedures and standards
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Able to follow instructions and safety procedures (wearing PPE)
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, push, and pull
- Extensive visits to the outdoor shipping dock and holding yard required
Work Environment
Warehouse environment is an uncontrolled atmosphere building. The manufacturing environment exposes you to dust, odors, and noise.

Schedule
Shift hours: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, plus applicable overtime when available.
