Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- First line supervisor of tool room machining operation to include tool & die build & repair, precision grinding, preventative tool maintenance, etc.
- Provide leadership and supervises the hourly tool room team.
- Ability to identify, select, train and coach team members.
- Responsible for overall coordination and communication within department and production.
- Interacts with production, engineering, materials and quality teams regarding key/open issues.
- Responsible for procurement of parts needed to keep tooling functioning properly to meet manufacturing needs.
- Maintain documentation and records various data for the department as required.
- Oversee the activities of the tool room to effectively support plant operations.
- Responsible for related safety requirements.
- Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required Education & Experience: Journeyman status as a Tool & Die Maker or bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.
- 8 plus years of experience in Tool & Die.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing.

- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers & suppliers

- Supervisory Responsibility: This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
