Tool Room Supervisor 1st Shift

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• First line supervisor of tool room machining operation to include tool & die build & repair, precision grinding, preventative tool maintenance, etc.
• Provide leadership and supervises the hourly tool room team.
• Ability to identify, select, train and coach team members.
• Responsible for overall coordination and communication within department and production.
• Interacts with production, engineering, materials and quality teams regarding key/open issues.
• Responsible for procurement of parts needed to keep tooling functioning properly to meet manufacturing needs.
• Maintain documentation and records various data for the department as required.
• Oversee the activities of the tool room to effectively support plant operations.
• Responsible for related safety requirements.
• Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required Education & Experience: Journeyman status as a Tool & Die Maker or bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.
• 8 plus years of experience in Tool & Die.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing.

• Supervisory Responsibility: This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
