About the role
Under limited supervision, performs repair and maintenance of tools and equipment, pulls and restocks rental items, and performs related work as assigned. Must be able to operate forklifts safely.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, rebuilds, and repairs tools and equipment, including maintaining and repairing rental trailers, equipment, and tools used in the electrical power industry.
- Diagnoses and repairs customer tools and equipment.
- Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Pulls and loads orders of rental items for distribution to and from customers.
- Operates sit-down and stand-up forklifts/pallet jacks.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Looks up parts for customers.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, governing agencies, and the public.
- Other duties as assigned based on business need.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of related experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
- Must be able to operate a forklift safely and complete forklift safety training.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read schematics for tools.
- Some tools are company-supplied, but applicant will need to have some of their own tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- General diagnosis and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and small gasoline engine-operated tools and equipment.
Skills
- Attention to detail.
- Use of power and hand tools.
- Use of diagnostic meters.
- Experience with operation of trailers and equipment.
