Tool Engineer

About the Role

This role supports the design, development, procurement, fabrication, and sustainment of manufacturing tooling and equipment to meet production, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities

• Designs industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments required for production or experimental use, considering factors such as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
• Develops tool concepts and detailed designs, releasing drawings and requirements.
• Supports tool build and prove-out.
• Coordinates with Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers.
• Troubleshoots tooling issues on the shop floor.
• Drives continuous improvement and standard work.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required.
• Position requires the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related discipline) with applicable experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and tooling development.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage priorities to meet schedule commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAD and drawing release practices.
• Experience supporting production operations.
• Experience with tool prove-out, root cause/corrective action, and continuous improvement.
