Tool & Die Technician 3rd shift - Sanford, NC

Responsibilities

• Safely install, inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain injection molds and tooling
• Support the maintenance of production and facility equipment
• Perform fabrication and machining responsibilities within the toolroom
• Handle all current tooling repairs and engineering changes
• Build and maintain fixtures to remove hand-loaded inserts and ensure operator safety
• Obtain multiple quotes on tool repairs to stay within budgetary limits
• Repair and maintain all injection molds belonging to Pentair Pool Products
• Control tooling budget and keep the tooling department trained to meet injection molding and customer demands
• Participate in the continuous improvement process
• Communicate with outside molding vendors to get quotes and discuss repair work on off-site tools
• Be on call 24/7
• Set tooling priorities and work with scheduling to minimize downtime before any repair is approved

Requirements

• Able to operate all tool room equipment: milling machines, lathes, grinders, hand tools, hand grinders, welders with precision
• Able to properly use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, indicators, pin gages, height gages
• Able to accurately read blueprints, tooling prints, and part prints
• Computer literate

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, twisting at the waist
• Lifting and lowering weights up to 50 lbs
• Steel-toed shoes are required on the distribution floor

Pay

The anticipated hourly base pay is $28.00 an hour plus an 8% shift premium. At Pentair, actual compensation will consider various factors including demonstrable experience, training, pertinent education, licensure, certifications, work location, and relevant business or organizational needs.

Schedule

3rd shift: 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM, Monday through Friday (plus overtime and weekends if needed).
