Responsibilities
- Work from blueprints, sketches, concepts and verbal instructions to devise and build dies, jigs, fixture and tooling to meet requirements.
- Assist with machining tooling components according to tooling drawing meeting quality and quantity objectives.
- Verify part accuracy by using various precision measuring equipment and gauges.
- Operates conventional tool room machinery and equipment and possesses an understanding of the basic operation and concepts of all CNC equipment (WEDM, CNC Machining Centers, CNC Sinker, etc.).
- Assist with performing first piece part inspection from tool tryouts and production and diagnose and correct tooling performance.
- Observe all company rules and procedures including housekeeping, quality of work and safety.
- Read work orders, follows engineering drawings and/or receives verbal instructions regarding duties, and adhere to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Knowledge of tool room equipment is required, examples include: manual drill presses, manual milling machines, band saws, lathes, surface grinders, radius dressers, Conventional EDM equipment, heat treatment, and all precision equipment.
- The ability to read engineering drawings, and comprehend simple work instructions is required.
Job Qualifications
- Physical qualifications: Willing and able to use both hands for repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions. Willing and able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required. Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 30 lbs on occasional basis.
