About the role

The Tool and Die machinist repairs, and maintains small dies, fixtures, and all other tooling in conformance to customer and/or company specifications per control plans. They analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.

Responsibilities

- Repairs and maintains small dies, fixtures, and tooling. - Operates and sets up various machine tools. - Fits and assembles parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and hand tools. - Analyzes specifications and lays out metal stock. - Ensures compliance with control plans and customer specifications. - Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures. - Reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a machinist working with small stamping dies, machining tools, and equipment components. - Extensive experience with metal working tools including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes. - Preferred knowledge of troubleshooting in die operation and die assembly. - Experience in welding is a plus. - Preferred metallurgical knowledge understanding the properties of metals. - Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures. - Strict adherence to safety policies and procedures. - Availability for regular standby assignments and work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required. - Ability to work with little supervision. - Solid knowledge of trigonometry and shop math. - Proficiency in Word and Excel. - Willingness to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations. - Strong work ethic and intermediate troubleshooting skills. - Ability to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work independently and within a team.
