Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings and solid models of aerospace parts to determine the tooling required to produce patterns for investment casting.
- Design fixtures and tooling necessary for production.
- 3D solid modeling and surface modeling.
- Observe first article production and inspection to verify process is followed and results are conforming.
- Develop methods to improve manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with internal tool makers and external vendors on tool designs and modifications.
- Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications as needed to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Solidworks or other CAD software is required.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of GD&T.
- Good communication skills.
- Candidate should be respectful and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
