About the role
This is an onsite position based in Fayetteville, NC. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
The Tool Crib Supervisor oversees the operation of the Tool Crib and manages inventory of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials, spare parts, consumables, and critical production support items. This position ensures the right parts are available at the right time to support maintenance activities, equipment reliability, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Parts Crib Attendants:
- Provide training on inventory procedures, systems, and material handling practices
- Establish daily priorities and workload assignments
- Conduct performance coaching and employee development activities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory of maintenance spare parts, MRO supplies, consumables, replacement components, and critical equipment spares:
- Establish and maintain appropriate min/max inventory levels
- Monitor inventory usage trends and adjust stocking strategies accordingly
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy; investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Support maintenance teams by ensuring timely availability of parts for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
- Assist with emergency maintenance requirements by expediting critical parts and materials
- Coordinate procurement of inventory items with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams:
- Track open purchase orders and monitor supplier performance
- Work with vendors to improve delivery performance, reduce lead times, and manage inventory costs
- Support spare parts standardization and supplier consolidation initiatives
- Identify obsolete, slow-moving, and excess inventory for disposition
- Monitor inventory value and support annual budget planning
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through improved inventory management practices
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized storeroom environment:
- Ensure proper storage and handling of parts, chemicals, and maintenance materials
- Develop and implement improvements to storeroom processes and inventory management systems
- Utilize inventory data and KPIs to improve service levels and operational performance
- Implement best practices for storeroom management and material flow
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 2+ years of experience in inventory control, maintenance storeroom management, parts crib operations, or manufacturing support
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience with inventory optimization, cycle counting, and materials management
Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing functions
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- More than 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience with SAP ERP system
- Strong knowledge of industrial spare parts, MRO inventory, and maintenance support operations
- Understanding of equipment reliability and maintenance planning principles
