Tool and Die Maker

About the role

$1,000 signing bonus. Salary $30.00 to $45.00 per hour, Monday–Friday plus overtime.

Primary Duties

• Set up and operate computer-controlled and mechanically controlled machines to manufacture precision metal carbide HSS and plastic parts, fixtures, gauges, and die components.
• Read blueprints, sketches, specifications, or CAD and CAM files for making tools and dies.
• Create and design all components in a CAD file using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces; understand all GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances).
• Set up and operate conventional machines (lathes, mills, grinders) and CNC machines.
• Familiar with EDM (sinker machines and wire drills).
• File, grind, and adjust parts so that they fit together properly.
• Test completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications.
• Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies.
• Design templates and jigs to be used as work aids for convenient fabrication of products and parts.
• Single point threads various types.
• Ability to manufacture parts with verbal instructions.
• Grind tool to detail drawing.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 5+ years of Tool and Die maker experience required.
• 2+ years of AutoCAD or SolidWorks drafting experience preferred.

Pay

Local pay range: $30.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending on experience. Targeted bonus amount can be up to 7.5% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Total annual target cash range (hourly pay plus bonus, annualized): $62,408 to $84,968. Standard overtime paid at 1.5× hourly rate.
