Tokenization Engineer
About the role
We are looking for a Mid/Senior Application Developer with strong Python and/or Java experience to build and support microservices-based applications deployed on AWS EKS (Kubernetes). This role focuses on designing and developing REST APIs, integrating with modern data stores (AWS DSQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake, MongoDB), and supporting data privacy/governance initiatives using tools such as Informatica CDGC and OneTrust.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Python and/or Java following cloud-native patterns.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs backed by microservices; define API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger) and versioning strategies.
- Deploy and operate services on AWS EKS, including containerization, configuration management, and runtime troubleshooting.
- Implement Kubernetes best practices: health checks, resource requests/limits, autoscaling, rolling deployments, and service discovery.
- Integrate microservices with databases and data platforms including: AWS DSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, Snowflake, MongoDB.
- Collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams on CI/CD pipelines and automation (build, test, container image management, deployment).
- Implement observability standards: structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, alerting, and dashboards.
- Apply security best practices (IAM, least privilege, secrets management, encryption in transit/at rest).
- Support data privacy and governance requirements by working with privacy/security teams and leveraging: Informatica CDGC for cataloging/governance workflows, OneTrust for privacy controls, assessments, and compliance processes.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and technical design discussions; mentor junior engineers as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience (Mid/Senior level).
- Strong hands-on development in Python and/or Java (backend services).
- Proven experience building microservices and REST APIs in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS EKS / Kubernetes (deploying, operating, troubleshooting).
- Experience with data stores/platforms such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, Snowflake, and familiarity with AWS DSQL.
- Solid understanding of AWS fundamentals (networking basics, IAM/security, logging/monitoring).
- Experience or strong exposure to data privacy/governance concepts and tools like Informatica CDGC and OneTrust.
- Strong engineering practices: unit/integration testing, Git workflows, CI/CD, documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with service mesh (Istio) or API gateways/ingress controllers (ALB Ingress, NGINX).
- Infrastructure-as-Code exposure (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm).
- Experience with performance tuning and resiliency patterns.
- Familiarity with security scanning and compliance automation in CI/CD.
Skills
- Python / Java, Microservices, REST APIs, OpenAPI.
- AWS EKS (Kubernetes), Docker, Helm (preferred).
- DynamoDB, MongoDB, Snowflake, AWS DSQL.
- Observability (logs/metrics/tracing).
- Data privacy/governance: Informatica CDGC, OneTrust, BigID.
- CI/CD, testing, secure coding.
