About the role

The Early Head Start Toddler Teacher supports the Lead Toddler Teacher in planning and implementing lesson plans focusing on social-emotional, physical, cognitive, health, and nutrition. They collaborate with the Lead Toddler Teacher to track child outcomes and maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Lead Toddler Teacher in lesson planning and implementation.
• Collaborates with the Lead Toddler Teacher to ensure positive child outcomes through appropriate observation and tracking.
• Maintains a safe, healthy classroom environment.
• Works with families to develop individual goals for their children.
• Encourages and supports family involvement in the Early Head Start Program.
• Conducts parent conferences and home visits to share information with families.
• Implements Individual Family Service Plans and goals.
• Ensures developmental and health/sensory screenings are completed within 45 days of enrollment.
• Instructs children in personal cleanliness and self-care.
• Keeps accurate and confidential records.
• Keeps an accurate inventory and requests supplies as needed.
• Identifies and reports suspected child abuse.
• Assists with CAPTAIN input regarding child and family contacts, referrals, and goal progress.
• Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or be willing to enroll in a CDA credential program within 2 years, or have an Associates or Baccalaureate Degree (in any area) or be in a program leading to such a degree, and one year of experience working with infants and toddlers.
• Ability to assist and supervise toddlers and ensure a safe learning environment.

Pay

Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.30
