Toddler Teacher Assistant

About This Role Our Montessori child care and preschool facility is looking for a full time assistant teacher for our Toddler Room ages 1-2. The teacher will be responsible for monitoring and teaching children ages ranging from 1 to 2 years old, implementing a Montessori-based curriculum that the children will respond to positively and partnering with the other toddler teachers to enhance the learning environment at our school. Candidate must be good with children ages 1-2, able to handle groups of children, able to maintain a safe environment, able to clean/organize/disinfect, be energetic, and be able to jump in wherever and whenever there's a need. What You'll Do Responsibilities and Duties: Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parentsCreate and implement activities that are fun and educational for the childrenCollaborate with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every childMaintain the health and safety of every child in your careMonitor day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks/diaper changes, lunch time and rest time for students Requirements Required Qualifications and Skills: High School DiplomaFingerprint Clearance CardCPR/First Aid certifiedCleared TB Test result from within the last 12 monthsCleared background checkAttend monthly staff meetings (sometimes outside of work hours)Attend trainings for professional development (18 hours per year required by the state) Nice To Haves Preferred Qualifications and Skills (NOT required): Experience with children and toddlers in a classroom settingExperience with early childhoodDegree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldExperience in MontessoriMontessori certification Benefits Child Care Discount About Us Heartprints is a cozy Montessori preschool nestled in the heart of Tempe.
