Tobacco Treatment Specialist
About the role
The Cancer Prevention and Control Program at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center of Georgetown University seeks a tobacco treatment specialist (TTS) and research assistant to work on a smoking cessation intervention trial with individuals who are at high risk for lung cancer and are undergoing lung cancer screening or have been diagnosed with cancer and are receiving treatment in the STAR Program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct the telephone-based smoking cessation intervention for both programs.
- Conduct data management activities.
- Provide support for the clinical trial and the clinical program, including scheduling and tracking participants, and conducting participant assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in pre-med, public health, psychology, or another social science is required.
- Prior data management experience and patient-facing experience is required.
- A two-year commitment is required.
- Prior experience working on behavioral research or clinical projects is required.
- Prior work on tobacco-related behavioral research is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Experience working in clinical settings.
- Advanced coursework in social/behavioral science.
- Prior experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Knowledge of, and experience in working with IRBs.
- Experience using data management and statistical software (e.g. REDCap, Microsoft Excel, SPSS, SAS).
Work Mode
This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
Pay Range
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $20.16 - $31.30.
