Tobacco Compliance Inspector

About the role

CES is looking for reliable, detail‑oriented individuals to assist Underage Purchasers in performing non‑confrontational compliance checks on local tobacco retailers. The inspections establish a retailer’s compliance with federal regulations and are conducted on a part‑time, case‑volume basis with flexibility to fit the individual’s schedule.

Responsibilities

• Travel with an Underage Purchaser and identify and verify the site address provided.
• Facilitate and observe undercover buys in coordination with trained Underage Purchasers.
• Collect evidence of violations, such as photographs and tobacco products.
• Complete compliance check inspection forms, detailing any violations when applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be a current law enforcement official with a valid Peace Officer’s license, or a current state, city, or county employee.
• Reliable transportation.
• Attention to detail.
• Strict adherence to deadlines and privacy requirements.

Equipment

• Smartphone.
• Personal computer or laptop with high‑speed internet access.

Other
