About the role

A day in the life of a Designer – Men’s Apparel at The North Face involves elevating design expression and creating best-in-industry men’s performance and performance-inspired apparel. You’ll support the Men’s Apparel Design Team in seasonal product design, creative vision, and execution, working on products built for Snow, Climb, Trail, and lifestyle apparel inspired by these territories.

Your responsibilities will include seasonal research, tool updates, concepts, product design, and tech-packing for moderately complex products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners, present design work at seasonal gates, and contribute to team reviews and workshops. A strong understanding of brand aesthetic, materials, technologies, fit, silhouette, and cost engineering is essential to meet consumer and business needs across performance and performance-inspired products.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Men’s Apparel Design Team in seasonal product design and creative vision.
  • Conduct seasonal research, update tools, develop concepts, and execute product design and tech-packing.
  • Design and create products for Snow, Climb, Trail, and lifestyle categories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and design leadership.
  • Present design work at seasonal gates, incorporating feedback.
  • Apply knowledge of brand DNA, materials, technologies, fit, and cost engineering.
  • Contribute to team reviews, workshops, and milestones with a focus on detail and learning.

Requirements

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in performance and lifestyle apparel design, with a focus on men’s apparel.
  • Preferred knowledge of outerwear and sportswear design and product construction.
  • Strong product acumen and working knowledge of apparel product development processes (design, development, sourcing, manufacturing).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong sketching skills, excellent tech-pack creation, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in research, prototyping, and concepting across lifestyle and performance products.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple timelines and deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving with a commitment to values-driven solutions.
  • High adaptability, growth mindset, and enthusiasm for learning new tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3D design experience.
  • Experience using AI rendering tools.
  • International work experience and market understanding.
  • Basic pattern and construction capabilities.
  • Circular design experience and understanding.

Pay

Hiring range: $82,080.00 – $102,600.00 USD annually.

This position is eligible for additional compensation awards, including annual incentive plans, sales incentives, or commission potential. Specific details will be provided during the recruiting process.
