TMA- Trained Medication Aide

We are seeking a Medication Aide to support residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility in Minneapolis, MN. This role provides senior resident care and services, including administration of medications in our long-term care and transitional care units under the direction of a nurse.

Schedule

• 48 hours in a 2-week pay period
• Evening hours
• Every other weekend and rotating holidays

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares based on individual plan of care
• Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff in a clear, concise manner
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
• Follows all shift routines regarding measuring of vital signs, weights, and administration of medications and treatments
• Dispenses medications using the right route, medication, resident, time, and dose
• Maintains awareness of actual and potential side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications, and purposes of medications
• Maintains a clean medication cart

Requirements

• Nursing Assistant Course
• Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification
• Completion of a standardized medication administration training program for unlicensed personnel in nursing homes (offered through a Minnesota postsecondary educational institution; does not expire as long as NAR certification remains current)

Qualifications

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of experience (none to 1 year acceptable)
