About This Job A teacher who, in addition to provid ing high-quality instruction in their own classroo m, magnifies their impact by providing resources and supports to new teachers in their building. Provides social emotional and school-based logistical support to teachers new to the District, including both novice and experienced, in order to build a sense of community, belonging, and understanding of their role. Acts as a communications hub, sharing and reinforcing information from the school’s leadership team and central office. Supports school growth by i mproving retention and well-being of new teachers and developing a strong, consistent, and supportive school culture. Expected Outcomes include supporting each new teacher on his/her caseload in the following areas: increasing new teacher understanding of culture, surroundings, systems, and procedures in the District and at school site; increasing new teacher sense of support and belonging, leading to increased satisfaction and retention of teachers in building; supporting transition for seasoned teachers entering the District from other districts, both locally and nationally; improving understanding of events, expectations, and requirements of new teachers in the District, beginning at point of hire, to ensure new teachers understand summer professional learning opportunities and expectations. Stipend Receives a stipend paid in 2 installments in December and May. An individual who holds the TLC New Teacher Ambassador position will receive an additional $880 annual stipdend, twice per year, on top of their teacher salary. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. What You'll Do Disseminates information from the central office to new teachers to ensure all new hires holding an Alternative or Initial License are on track to meet requirements for their Induction Certificate and are able to apply for their Professional License upon receipt of Induction Certificate; supports new teachers in tracking progress toward completion of Induction RequirementsProvides logistical support to all new teachers in a building, such as organizing and facilitating school tour, providing school-based contact tree, and ensuring completion of new teacher checklistProvides awareness and support navigating expectations and available resources, such as Introduction to Whetstone, Teacher Portal, and Infinite Campus and reinforcing the value of professional learning, Culturally Responsive Teaching, and English Language Acquisition (ELA)Provides socio-emotional support to new teacher team; facilitates the cohort experience, holding monthly cohort meetings to address common concerns and challenges while building a collaborative culture among new teachers; schedules social activities; and conducts check-ins through a variety of mediumsMay participate in extra-duty activities such as coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, as outlined in the Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with Department of Labor regulations. What You’ll Need Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required. A Master's Degree is only required for Concurrent Enrollment positions.A minimum of one year teaching experience in the school in which candidate will serve as the New Teacher Ambassador (NTA)Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license. At least two (2) years of demonstrated teacher effectiveness through effective or equivalent end-of-year ratings through the LEAP growth and performance system, or a comparable, multiple measure, growth and performance system.Demonstrate essential skills for this role outlined in the Teacher Leader Scope and Sequence .Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
