Title Policy Typist (Independence Title - Austin, TX Area)

About the role

The Title Policy Typist at Independence Title in Austin, Texas, is responsible for preparing and finalizing commercial title insurance policies for complex real estate transactions. This position requires knowledge of title commitments, endorsements, and closing practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finalize title insurance policies, including post-closing endorsements, in accordance with commitments and closing instructions
• Review title documents (commitments, proformas, closing packages) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with underwriter guidelines
• Verify legal descriptions, vesting, and transaction details; incorporate required endorsements, exceptions, and requirements
• Collaborate with escrow officers, examiners, and underwriters to resolve discrepancies and support post-closing corrections
• Manage multiple transactions, maintain organized files, and meet production deadlines

Requirements

• 3+ years of title experience required
• Experience preparing/typing policies preferred
• Strong knowledge of title commitments, proformas, policy forms, and endorsements
• High attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; experience with title software (e.g. RamQuest) is a plus
