Key Accountabilities And Outcomes

  • Oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modification on production equipment.
  • Designs, implements and tests for proper operation the control system software and hardware for a wide variety of PLC (programmable logic controllers), HMI (human machine interfaces), Process Instrumentation and Servo Systems.
  • Throughout control system software/hardware implementation or modification, ensure the safety of operators, maintenance and support personnel working in proximity to automated equipment.
  • Organize control system software/hardware implementation or modifications to minimize the impact on production.
  • Provide the Engineering or Maintenance Team with support in the implementation of production line modifications.
  • Provide the Maintenance Team with support in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment or instrumentation operating under the control of an automated system.
  • Install of conduit, pull wire and terminate.

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent coupled with formal technical education in a trade school setting.
  • Eight years of experience is required in a mechanical setting relating to the food processing, chemical or the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Must pass aseptic certification course.
  • Must be able to pass a position specific “basic” skills test.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of schematics, PLC’s, process & instrumentation drawings.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and fluid power systems.
  • Must be able to function in a team environment.
  • Must pass a basic computer skills test.
  • Must pass equipment manufacturer review of demonstrated aptitude.
