Performance Responsibilities
- Promotes and develops successful reading/math instruction for students and performs related duties in accordance with Title I requirements.
- Responsible for group and individual instruction in reading and/or math for students who meet state and federal guidelines.
- Supervises and develops lessons for Para professionals.
- Absess and tracks student progress by implementing a variety of assessment instruments to determine eligibility.
- Promotes a high level of achievement for all students.
- Uses techniques and methodologies appropriate for student ability level.
- Identifies and documents instruction using learning objectives with clear understanding of student outcomes.
- Completes quarterly progress reports to parents.
- Completes daily log of activities.
- Acts as an instructional leader in the area of reading and math for the school.
- Plan and carry out activities for Title I parents' involvement in school.
- Disseminate public information about the project in accordance with dissemination plan and schedule whenever newsworthy events occur during the project year.
- Maintains liaison with administrative team of Central Office personnel and principals.
- Incorporate the New Hampshire Frameworks and Grade Level Expectations into daily and long term planning.
- Plan for children with different learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize data from standardized and teacher made assessments to drive instruction.
- Exhibit a deep and accurate understanding of subject area knowledge.
- Utilize research based teaching strategies.
- Work collaboratively with specialists and colleagues to plan effective instruction for all children.
- Clearly communicate the learning objective and the importance of the learning to all students.
- Prepare plans for substitute teachers.
- Communicate with parents/guardians of all students as necessary.
- Work to improve student performance and supports the district goal of improving standardized testing results by 5-7 percentage points each year.
- Integrate technology into the curriculum for all students.
Classroom Management
- Provide for adequate protection of students.
- Maintain appropriate student records.
- Administer testing situations according to state and local guidelines.
- Engage parents to assist in discipline.
- Teach effectively and with professional demeanor.
- Set high expectations for students.
- Praise academic achievement.
- Use clarity of explanation and presentations.
- Supervise group work effectively.
