9-month position, 7 hours per day

About the Role

This position supports the Early Childhood Special Education program at Robert L. Taylor Elementary School in Henderson, serving preschool-aged children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for preschool students with disabilities.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students in academic, social, behavioral, and motor-skill development.
• Help with classroom management, including setting up learning centers, preparing materials, and maintaining a safe and organized environment.
• Assist students with personal care needs as required (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility).
• Monitor and document student progress, reporting observations to the teacher and IEP team.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to reinforce student goals.
• Support inclusion by facilitating interactions between students with and without disabilities.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
