About the role

The Title I Specialized Programs Teacher Assistant III position is part of the Intermediate Autism program at CCSD. The role involves supporting students with autism spectrum disorders in a specialized educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Support students with autism in their academic and social development.
• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Provide emotional support and assist with daily routines.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university.
• A passing score on the ETS para-pro assessment.
• One year of experience working with special education children preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification from an approved organization.

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and effective strategies for supporting students with this condition.
