Summary/Objective

Uplift Michigan Online School seeks to provide an excellent education to all students, adhering to the mission, vision, and goals of the Academy and Summit Management Consulting's core values. The Reading Intervention Teacher will work with students to enhance their achievement in courses, benchmark assessments, and state assessments.

Essential Functions

  • Meet with students in small groups and 1:1 sessions to address achievement gaps and improve performance on assessments.
  • Analyze state, district, and classroom data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Accelerate academic performance through various instructional strategies and activities.
  • Become proficient in NWEA testing and other assessment processes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely student records and schedules.
  • Frequently communicate with parents regarding their child's performance and progress.
  • Administer and report on state assessments.
  • Provide support strategies to boost student achievement on mandated assessments.
  • Document and track student progress for eligible students.
  • Engage with students, parents, and staff through various forms of communication.

Evaluation

All employees are evaluated based on their primary responsibilities and adherence to job descriptions. Immediate feedback is provided frequently throughout the school year, culminating in a year-end evaluation.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional home office environment. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are routinely used. Schedule

This role requires work between 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed. It is a full-time, salary position requiring 40 hours per week, with flexibility in hours not available.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Michigan Teaching Certification in the assigned area
  • Pre-service experience, as required for certification
