Duties & Responsibilities
- Build rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
- Work independently to assist teachers with instruction.
- Work with all children, including those requiring additional support.
- Provide supervision during recess and lunch periods.
- Communicate with instructional staff daily regarding instruction and student issues.
- Support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Physical Requirements of Position
- Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to navigate through a multiple-story building.
Special Qualification Desired
- Good attendance a must for success in this position.
- Flexible due to changes in schedule and student population.
- Experience working with at-risk students a plus.
- Possess a proven track record of building rapport with culturally diverse students and their families to assure that each student reaches his or her full academic potential.
