The Technology Manager role at Valmet combines technical expertise with a focus on sales and business development within the exciting tissue industry.
Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate efforts including proposal development including scope definition, specification, performance guarantees and costing and pricing.
- Work side by side with the sales team members to establish close customer relationships to help surpass their expectations and move their performance forward.
- Develop and follow project start-up, interacting with the customer and internal resources to ensure goals and guarantees are met.
- Cook up all functions related to the profitable sales and technical success and changing application norms as appropriate for future projects.
- Apply solutions to our customer's machinery, assist in the technical specification generation and negotiations.
- Show technical understanding of paper making equipment.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Paper Science with advanced knowledge in Tissue processes, Engineering, or a related degree with a minimum of three to five related experience in the paper industry.
- An Associates or Technical degree with hands on Pulp & Paper experience and a passion to serve our customers could also be considered.
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy with Microsoft Office, general enterprise resource planning systems and customer relationship management tools.
- An excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken as the incumbent will be supporting customers based in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
- Available to travel frequently within North America and Globally.
- Effective communication and presentation skills are an important part of this position.
