About the Role
Balances, installs, and rotates tires. Stocks tires and batteries, repairs tires, and assists members with purchasing or returning tires and batteries. Provides high-level member service.
Responsibilities
- Locates member cars in the tire shop area of the lot.
- Lists body damage on service order.
- Drives member vehicle into install bay and onto hydraulic hoist; raises auto.
- Removes wheels using an impact gun and rolls them to the mounting machine.
- Removes tire from wheel, cleans hub and rim with wire brush.
- Attaches new valve stem, mounts new tire on wheel, and fills to appropriate air pressure.
- Operates automatic balance machine to determine proper weight and placement for balancing; attaches weights (including tape weights) to rims.
- Mounts wheels to vehicle using an impact gun according to Tire Shop procedures.
- Repairs flat tires for members and non-members.
- Assists members in determining tire and battery needs, answers questions, makes product recommendations, and sells tires.
- Invoices tire purchases and services; loads tires on dolly or rolls them to install area.
- Alerts supervisor or manager to complete torque check and 10-point check for vehicle release authorization.
- Parks member vehicle in lot and returns invoice and keys to sales desk.
- Cleans installation area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping.
- Stocks tires and batteries in the sales area according to the Tire Shop Manager’s merchandising plan.
- Processes transactions: rings up orders, receives payment (cash, check, credit/debit), provides receipts, and calculates refunds for warranty returns.
- Communicates with Tire Shop Manager, Buyers, Receiving Departments, and Inventory Auditors regarding special orders, quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotions.
- Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of potentially hazardous material spills.
- Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery as required.
- Assists with department duties and in other warehouse departments as necessary.
