Primary Duties
- Removes worn or defective tires and replaces them with new tires using the necessary tools and equipment.
- Reads and comprehends training manuals, service tickets, etc.
- Checks basic elements of the vehicle’s tires according to Western Auto’s methods for tire and courtesy inspections.
- Installs, replaces, and fixes tires and provides tire balancing services.
- Uses knowledge of diagnostic equipment - tire installation machines and balancing, and tire repair equipment.
- Maintains a fast-paced work environment, stress, and stressful situations in a professional manner.
- Performs maintenance tasks - sweeping/mopping the workshop floor, cleaning/maintaining the equipment, emptying the garbage bins, cleaning the parking area, etc.
- Operates the workshop lifts appropriately.
- Handles a fast-paced work environment, stress, and stressful situations in a professional manner.
- Can install batteries if they are a mechanics student and a supervisor is nearby.
Tire Installer Training Requirements
- Completes the Western Auto orientation training.
