Time Studies Intern

About the role

Southeast Toyota's Industrial Engineering department has immediate temporary part-time openings at our Vehicle Processing Centers in Commerce, GA. Candidates hired in this role will be paid a competitive hourly wage.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team in a variety of functions over a term of several months.
• Conduct time-and-motion studies to develop labor standards for production activities.
• Participate in process mapping and data collection in a production environment.
• Participate in Kaizen Events and Gemba Walks under the direction of the IE Dept.
• Work closely with 5S teams to improve workplace organization and waste reduction.
• Perform ergonomic assessments and develop recommendations for various work tasks.
• Adhere to safety and quality policy and procedures and support site compliance objectives.
• Perform other projects or duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program; freshman, sophomore, and junior students preferred.
• STEM students or students with an engineering focus are preferred but not required.
• Experience and/or completed coursework related to time & motion studies.
• Microsoft Excel experience with data entry and basic macro development is desired.
• Microsoft PowerPoint experience in developing and delivering presentations.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
• Able to work under time constraints and manage complexity effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work non-standard schedules based on business location needs due to varying schedules.

Qualifications

• Local to Commerce or Jacksonville and commit to working part time during core hours of Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am - 2:15 pm.
• The length of the internship will be based on volume of work, intern’s successful performance and continuous needs of our Operation.
