About the Role

As a Ticket/Gate Agent at Delta Air Lines, you will be the first to greet our customers, guide them to where they need to go, and assist them with ticketing and baggage check-in. This entry-level position plays a crucial part in our mission to ensure cargo and passengers are transported safely and on time. Our leaders provide mentorship to help advance your career.

Responsibilities

  • Own the check-in process, boarding process, and seat availability, including making gate announcements and ensuring customers have accurate travel documentation.
  • Tag and lift baggage from scales to conveyor belts (some bags weigh up to 70 pounds).
  • Operate loading bridges.
  • Open, close, and secure aircraft doors.
  • Escort unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport.

Ticket/Gate Seasonal Agents work between 20 to 40 hours per week and 150 to 800 hours per year, depending on operational need and location. Recalls can happen at any time during the calendar year based on demand.

Requirements

  • Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • At least 18 years of age with authorization to work in the United States.
  • Proficiency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic digital literacy.
  • Pass a physical ability test (PAT).
  • Pass a Customer Service Assessment.
  • Ability to meet airport-specific requirements, such as obtaining a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
