ThriveKids Outpatient Therapist (LPC/LCSW)

About the role

ThriveKids Student Wellness is a community-based program at Children’s Hospital New Orleans dedicated to improving healthcare and academic outcomes for students. As a Mental Health Therapist on the ThriveKids Team, you will work full-time at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, supporting the mission, vision, and core values of both Children’s Hospital and ThriveKids Student Wellness Project.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement the mission, vision, and core values of Children’s Hospital and ThriveKids Student Wellness Project.
• Complete psychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and develop treatment plans for students.
• Provide psychotherapy and other billable services as ordered / indicated by patient need.
• Document all services in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
• Keep family members and referral sources informed of the treatment process as permitted by patient consent.
• Perform Care Coordination for patients requiring specialized care and refer to appropriate resources as needed.
• Supervise unlicensed staff as required.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited school in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
• Licensed in the State of Louisiana.
• Experience: 2 years of progressively increasing experience in a clinical setting, including hospital/school experience, student crisis intervention, and working with children, adolescents, and families.
• Education: Participation in appropriate continuing education, annual education requirements, and acceptance of personal responsibility for enhancing job-related skills and abilities.

Qualifications
