About the role

The Salvation Army seeks a Full-Time Thrift Store Manager I to oversee operations at the OKM Thrift Store in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, administers, monitors, and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the store to ensure a reasonable financial return on the sale of store items.
  • Aids customers in a polite and friendly manner.
  • Prepares store displays that are attractive, neat, and orderly.
  • Rotates and restocks store merchandise to ensure quick turnover.
  • Ensures the accountability and security of all store items and funds.
  • May be required to serve as lead worker to volunteers, beneficiaries, and/or subordinate store personnel, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Processes, displays, and prices donated merchandise reasonably and fairly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years progressively responsible experience working in a retail store environment, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of retail store management principles and practices.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete bookkeeping records.
  • Ability to evaluate store operations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to price donated merchandise reasonably and fairly.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
