Position Summary

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Thrift Store Associates to join our team. In this role you will assist with daily operations of our thrift store, including sorting donations, pricing items, and providing excellent customer service. Your work will directly contribute to raising funds that support patient care and essential hospice services.

Responsibilities

• Price, stock, and merchandise display items for sale to create an inviting and organized shopping experience.
• Open, close, and ensure the thrift shop operates properly during regularly scheduled hours, maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with volunteers, providing guidance and support; orient new volunteers to thrift shop procedures, office protocols, and safety precautions.
• Maintain accurate receipts of all sales and donations; ensure daily deposits are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
• Greet all customers with a friendly and polite demeanor, thank each customer as they leave, and provide assistance and answers about merchandise and the organization’s mission.
• Assist the manager in keeping the shop, offices, and bathrooms clean and safe; rotate on a regular schedule to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Act independently and responsibly to perform job duties consistently, ensuring the thrift shop meets community needs and supports the mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Computer literacy preferred; willingness to learn required.
• Retail experience and customer service experience preferred.
