About the role

This full-time position is based onsite at our Downers Grove, IL office. The Security Operations Center Analyst will plan and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data, acting as a first responder to cyber-incidents. The role involves reporting cyber threats and implementing protective changes for customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data
• Act as a first responder to cyber-incidents
• Report cyber threats and implement changes to protect customer environments
• Analyze real traffic and associated artifacts (malicious, normal, and application traffic)
• Differentiate malicious traffic from false positives
• Perform daily system monitoring and health checks for various security products
• Triage alerts and reports of incidents
• Configure firewalls, data encryption, and other security measures
• Understand DNS functionality for both legitimate and malicious purposes
• Understand basic network protocols and traffic flow in an enterprise environment
• Communicate clearly with verbal and written skills
• Stay current on IT security trends, vulnerabilities, and news
• Recommend security enhancements
• Travel between locations and transport equipment as required

Requirements

• 1+ years’ experience in a security-related position
• Required minimum certification: Security+
• Experience performing daily system monitoring and health checks for security products
• Ability to triage alerts and reports of incidents confidently
• Ability to analyze real traffic and differentiate malicious traffic from false positives
• Understanding of firewall configuration, data encryption, and other security measures
• Understanding of DNS for both legitimate and malicious purposes
• Understanding of basic network protocols and traffic flow in an enterprise environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must meet and uphold CJIS requirements
• Must have a car, valid driver’s license, and proof of vehicle insurance
• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Schedule

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (4 x 10-hour shifts).

Pay

$60,000–$65,000 annually.
